Coors Field

First Vinnie Castilla, and now Preston Wilson. Jim Bowden apparently doesn't understand that Coors Field inflates statistics.

See, at first glance, Wilson looks like an okay player -- his .813 OPS isn't great, but it's still better than Brad Wilkerson. But take him away from Coors Field, and his road OPS since 2003 is .795, .689, and .691.

Why do we want this guy?

  • Why do we want him? Did you see that homer last night (7/21)? Granted it didn't win the game, but it significant for 2 reasons:

    1) i can count the homers at RFK this season on my fingers and toes;

    2) it meant that a 3-0 game became a 3-2 game, adding to the pile of Nats games decided by 1 run.

    Presstone!

  • I did see it, actually. In person.

    The problem is, PresTONE can't play third base and neither can anyone else on this team.
