In their story wrapping up the campaign, the quoted GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas. Allow me: "... noting that both seats were won by Democrats in 2001 when Bush's popularity was high. Still, he acknowledged the defeats — and said they could help rally the GOP base next year."
Hurrah! Good news all around! The Democrats won, which is good for them, and the Republicans have rallied their base. This is like the Special Olympics version of politics: everyone's a winner!
