Kinda handy when a window gets lost off-screen. Just because you're hooked up to some old Dumont doesn't mean the rest of us aren't flying by at 1600x1200, Ned Ludd.

You have to go to war with the monitor you have, not the monitor you want. You can have all the monitors in the world, and your computer can still be blown up.
